Royal Air Force 100 Years
In 2018 our Association in Partnership with Falkirk Council arranged a RAF Commemoration and Celebration at Grangemouth. We visited graves at Grandsable Cemetery, Grangemouth. We researched and learned stories about the brave WW2 pilots. We learned about the local area, Scotland, UK and the heritage and role of the Royal Air Force since it;s formation. We engaged with local schools, involved young people, cadets, Veterans, Armed Forces, Pipe Band, Royal Air Force, we invited all political parties and the community. Consuls General of Poland and the Czech Republic whose pilots and personnel bravely fought in the RAF during the course of the Battle of Britain and throughout WWII, were honoured at today's service. Falkirk's Lord Lieutenant was our VIP guest on the day. Falkirk Council held a civic reception and recognised and congratulated the edicational work of our Association. The RAF Baton Relay team also supported this event. Provost William Buchanan is the President of ASA Scotland.
